Two engines are on offer with the Chrysler 300. The standard engine is a 3.6-liter V-6, married to an eight-speed transmission, that makes 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. A slightly more powerful version of the same engine is featured with the 300S trim, producing 300 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque. On option is a powerful 5.7-liter V-8 HEMI, also mated to an eight-speed transmission, that kicks out 363 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive optional.
The available all-wheel drive system will automatically adjust the traction of the car to afford you a safe drive no matter the weather conditions or terrain you’re navigating.
If you opt for the 5.7-liter V-8 engine, you’ll get a fuel saver system that uses sensors to detect when full power is not needed, for example when driving on the highway. In such instances, the system will deactivate four of the eight cylinders in order to save fuel, and will reactivate them again when full power is required.
