Experience the 2019 Dodge Charger in Plainfield, IN
Are you looking for a car that mixes muscle with functionality? Meet the powerful 2019 Dodge Charger. This sedan is ready for anything you can imagine. Check out the exciting details below.
There are five trim levels available for the 2019 model year: the SXT, SXT AWD, GT R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and the SRT Hellcat. The lines on each model look as if they have been transplanted from the 1960s muscle Charger with a carved-out look. All of the trims have a black grille and LED taillights.
If you’re looking for a stylish family car, check out the subtle SXT trim. It gives you the classic form of the 1960s but adds in a more traditional sedan style. The GT model adds in a hood scoop with air intake, sculpted side sills, and a decklid spoiler to give the car a powerful look. Dodge understands that the Charger is not just a muscle car now.
The car offers the choice of four engines. One is a 3.6-liter V-6 that is offered for the SXT, SXT AWD, and GT trims. This V-6 is rated for 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque in the SXT and 300 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque in the other trims.
A 370-horsepower 5.7-liter V-8 is offered in the R/T. This increases to a 485-horsepower 6.4-liter V-8 in the R/T Scat Pack. The top-of-the-line Hellcat runs on an eye-popping 707-horsepower 6.2-liter V-8 when you use the red key. However, if someone else is driving the car, have them use the black key, which caps the power at 500 horsepower.
This muscle and family car performs well in all types of conditions. The V-6 runs smooth for the family. However, if you are looking for muscle, the V-8 is awaiting you with its zero to 60 time ranging between 3.7 and 4.5 seconds.
The interior of these five-passenger cars continues the retro nod with carved surfaces highlighted by a thin matte metallic trim. The trunk in all trims includes 16.5 cubic feet of storage space, allowing you to pack enough gear to get away from your daily life.
From there, the car is brought into modern times with an infotainment system that includes either a 7.0-inch or 8.4-inch screen. All of the trims have both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities included. The SXT also includes a USB port to charge or play your electronics while on the road. It also lets you make calls hands-free with the included Bluetooth technology.
Safety is important on the road. Dodge understands this and makes sure that whether you are with your family or friends, the Charger keeps you safe. There are six air bags and rear parking sensors offered as standard equipment for all trims. Each car also comes with a backup camera on board.
When the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration tested the car, it rated four stars on front crashes. However, it received five stars for side impact and rollover accidents.
