Enjoy the last days of summer in Indianapolis with festivities like the Chevrolet Performance NHRA US Nationals, the CANvitational beer tasting, and the Dig IN food fair. All three of these events are fabulous opportunities to kick back and relax before the hustle and bustle of fall sets in. Don’t let the warm weather pass you by, head down to Indy for a good time.
Dig IN – A Taste of Indiana
Celebrate Indiana’s rich agricultural tradition at Indiana’s favorite food festival, Dig IN – A Taste of Indiana. In the spirit of the farm-to-fork ideology, Indiana chefs, brewers, and vintners will come together at Dig IN to showcase a smorgasbord of delectable, locally-sourced food and refreshing beverages. With your ticket to the festival, you can sample fare and drink from each bar and restaurant there. If you love to eat and drink, and perhaps consider yourself somewhat of a foodie, visit the Dig IN food festival, and get ready to make memories.
61st Annual Chevrolet Performance NHRA US Nationals
September 2 – September 7
Every Labor Day weekend, drag racing fans from all over the country come together at Lucas Oil Raceway to watch the biggest, most prestigious drag racing championship put on by the National Hot Rod Association. The celebration continues non-stop from Wednesday, September 2nd to Monday, September 7th, Labor Day. On Wednesday and Thursday, the competition starts, and the best drivers move on to the weekend races. Jet car exhibitions mark the end of racing on Friday and Saturday evening, and drag racers compete in the Traxxas® Nitro Shootout on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, fans will get the opportunity to walk alongside their favorite drag racers in the SealMaster NHRA Track Walk. Get your tickets to look on as the country’s top drag racers battle it out at the Chevrolet Performance NHRA US Nationals.
3rd Annual Sun King CANvitational
The Sun King CANvitational will be held in Indianapolis on September 12th. This annual beer festival showcases over 45 breweries that specialize in canning their beer. Canning beer is advantageous because aluminum is impervious to oxygen and UV light; forces that chip away at the freshness of the beer. Also, in practice, consumers are more likely to recycle aluminum cans than glass bottles. This theoretically makes canned beer more environmentally friendly than their bottled counterparts. With so many reasons to love canned beer, spend some time at the Sun King CANvitational in Indianapolis this September and go beer tasting, listen to good music, and eat delicious food.
